      Abstract

High-density vaname shrimp farming often faces problems such as shrimp stress and decreased water quality resulting in farm failure. The problem of culture failure can be overcome by one of them by changing water and applying paddlewheels. The purpose of this particular internship was to evaluate the treatment of using paddlewheels at different stocking densities. The treatments consisted of a stocking density of 100 fish m-2 using 4 paddlewheels (K4) and a solid treatment and stocking density of 500 fish m-2 using 6 paddlewheels (K6). Parameters observed included production performance, growth (ABW, ADG, SGR), survival, and water quality (pH, temperature, DO, salinity). The results showed that the best vaname shrimp growth was obtained in treatment K6 with an average ABW of 5,78 g tail-1 and ADG of about 0,36 g day-1. The highest survival rate was found in treatment K4 at 88,5% and the water quality parameters obtained were included in the optimal category according to quality standards. The application of paddlewheels is very important in helping the implementation of vaname shrimp farming, but due to the use of stocking densities that are too high can disrupt the course of cultivation, causing less than optimal production.
