      Abstract

Quality feed and relatively low cost are among the efforts to improve the growth performance of freshwater red claw lobster seedlings as a sustainable aquaculture practice. This research aims to determine the commercial feed that can have a positive impact on growth performance. The study used three treatments: treatment A with commercial feed containing 40% protein, treatment B with commercial feed containing 41% protein, and treatment C with commercial feed containing 41% protein. The initial freshwater red claw lobster seedlings used had an average length of 2.1±0.1 cm per individual and an average weight of 0.24±0.03 g per individual. The test lobsters were kept in a 1×0.4×0.4 m3 aquarium at a stocking density of 50 individuals per square meter for 60 days. Feeding was provided twice a day at 07:00 and 17:00 local time with a feeding rate (FR) of 3%. The research results on growth performance showed no significant differences among the treatments. The feed cost per gain (FCG) shows significant differences, with treatments B and C differing significantly from treatment A. Providing commercial feed to freshwater red claw lobster juveniles with a protein content of 41% resulted in an FCG value of Rp26,579±2,624.
