      Abstract

The increasing demand for seaweed requires quality seeds that are available throughout the year. The use of tissue culture techniques to reproduce plants through the callus induction stage into micropropagules by adding nutrients and growth regulators to liquid media can optimize the growth of seaweed seedlings. The purpose of this research activity is to use the growth regulator IAA from the auxin group with different concentrations. The method used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 10 replications, with treatment code IK (control), I1 (IAA 0,2 mg/L), I2 (IAA 0,4 mg/L), I3 (IAA 0,6 mg/L). Observation results showed that treatment I1 is higher (P<0,05) than treatment IK which have a value of micropropagule emergence 5,50±3,13 ind. The average number is 17,50±10,82 ind and the percentage of micropropagule growth is 100%. The effective dose is in treatment I1 with a dose of 0,2 mg/L.
