      Representasi Ayah pada Anak Laki-Laki dalam Iklan Matahari: Maknai Kebersamaan dengan Saling Melengkapi Edisi Ramadhan 2019

      Abstract
      Komunikasi bisa disampaikan secara verbal maupun non-verbal, salah satunya melalui iklan, yang merupakan pesan promosi barang atau jasa melalui media kepada masyarakat. Iklan "Maknai Kebersamaan dengan Saling Melengkapi" edisi Ramadhan 2019 dari Matahari Department Store mengangkat tema keluarga dengan latar belakang bulan suci Ramadhan. Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi peran ayah dan ideologi dalam iklan tersebut menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa iklan merepresentasikan ayah pada anak lakilaki melalui mitos anak yang hebat dan mitos Matahari sebagai pelengkap kebahagiaan keluarga. Ideologi kapitalisme Matahari tercermin dari adegan belanja, tampilan produk, dan sinar matahari pagi yang berkonotasi dengan nama perusahaan.
       
      Communication can be conveyed both verbally and non-verbally, including through advertisements, which are promotional messages for goods or services delivered via media to the public. The "Maknai Kebersamaan dengan Saling Melengkapi" Ramadhan 2019 advertisement by Matahari Department Store focuses on family themes set against the backdrop of the holy month of Ramadhan. This study analyzes the representation of the father’s role and the ideology within the advertisement using a descriptive qualitative method and Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The findings reveal that the ad represents the father in relation to the son through the myths of an exceptional child and Matahari as a complement to family happiness. The capitalist ideology of Matahari is reflected in the shopping scenes, product displays, and the morning sunlight that alludes to the company’s name.
