Identitas regional dapat diwujudkan dalam bentuk maskot yang menampilkan ciri khas suatu wilayah, seperti di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Kabupaten ini memiliki berbagai potensi yang dapat dijadikan identitas maskot. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan merancang identitas regional Kabupaten Bandung Barat serta menganalisis penilaian budayawan terhadap maskot yang dirancang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, kuesioner dan observasi dengan metode snowball sampling, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kabupaten Bandung Barat memiliki 20 objek kebudayaan material, 3 objek bentang alam, 4 objek flora dan 5 objek fauna yang potensial. Desain maskot dibuat berdasarkan frekuensi tertinggi dari persepsi budayawan yang menghasilakn objek sapi perah, pangsi, Observatorium Bosscha, ikat kepala Sunda, kesenian sasapian, kesenian pencak silat dan Gunung Tangkuban Parahu. Maskot yang dirancang kemudian dinilai berdasarkan objek, bentuk, warna, filosofi, dan bahan serta menghasilkan desain maskot dua dimensi dan boneka untuk Kabupaten Bandung Barat.

Regional identity can be realized in the form of a mascot that displays the characteristics of a region, such as in West Bandung Regency. This district has various potentials that can be used as mascot identities. The aim of this research is to identify and design the regional identity of West Bandung Regency and analyze cultural expert assessments of the designed mascot. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires and observations using the snowball sampling method, then analyzed using a frequency distribution table. The research results show that West Bandung Regency has 20 material culture objects, 3 landscape objects, 4 flora objects and 5 potential fauna objects. The mascot design was made based on the highest frequency of cultural expert perceptions which resulted in the objects of dairy cows, pangsi, Bosscha Observatory, Sundanese headbands, sasapian art, pencak silat arts and Mount Tangkuban Parahu. The designed mascots were then assessed based on objects, shapes, colors, philosophy and materials and produced two dimensional mascot designs and dolls for West Bandung Regency.
