      Abstract
      Keterangan kedaluwarsa merupakan label pangan yang harus dicantumkan untuk memberikan informasi kepada konsumen mengenai batas akhir produk yang masih terjamin mutu dan keamanannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan kesadaran mahasiswa Sekolah Vokasi IPB dalam membaca keterangan kedaluwarsa. Penelitian ini berbentuk survei yang dilakukan di Sekolah Vokasi IPB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 94,21% responden pria dan 95,49% responden wanita membaca label. Ketika membaca label pangan, responden pria dan wanita paling memperhatikan informasi keterangan kedaluwarsa. Pengetahuan responden pria terhadap makna istilah best before dan expired date cukup baik dan responden wanita baik. Namun sayangnya, masih banyak responden yang belum memahami produk pangan yang tidak wajib mencantumkan keterangan kedaluwarsa. Responden pria dan wanita menjadikan informasi keterangan kedaluwarsa sebagai alasan utama membuang makanan.
       
      Expiration date is a food label that must be included to provide information to consumers about the end date of a product's guaranteed quality and safety. This study aims to determine the knowledge and awareness of Bogor Agricultural University Vocational School students in reading expiration date information. This research takes the form of a survey conducted at Bogor Agricultural University Vocational School. The results show that 94,21% of male respondents and 95,49% of female respondents read the label. When reading food labels, male and female respondents pay the most attention to expiration date information. Male respondents' knowledge of the meanings of the terms "best before" and "expired date" is quite good and female respondents' knowledge is good. However, many respondents still do not understand that food products that are not required to include expiration date information. Male and female respondents cite expiration date information as the main reason for discarding food.
