      Abstract
The different propagules (suckers, shoots, slips, crowns) have already been described. When an industry is just starting it may be necessary to maintain special nurseries for fast propagation. The stems are cut lengthwise and are sectioned. In principle each bud can grow out to a new plant, provided their nutrition is assured and the apical dominance is broken. The different group should be kept separate and must be sorted for size, so that a field is planted with uniform material. In order to develop rapid method for propagation of pineapple, the experiment that employ three factors, i.e. the section of stem used for propagation (upper-stem, middle-stem, lower stem), the number of vertical division (two and four), and growth regulator (BAP 0 mg/I and BAP 4 mg/l), conducted under green house condition at Pusat Kajian Buah-buahan Tropika (PKBT), Baranangsiang, Bogor, from December 2002 to October 2003, evaluated 'Nenas Bogor's stems, taken from Desa Tajur Halang. It was arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The obtained data was subjected to analyze of variance homogeneity, analyze of variance, and analyze of correlation. The result indicated the using of the upper-stem and BAP 4 mg/l gave the highest number of planted materials and the fastest breaking of apical dominance. The using of two sectioned stem gave the highest number of planted materials and simultaneously gaye the best performance of planted materials. The experiment described that small variation was found within cuttings propagations' population. The variant is duplicated or triplicated plant.
