      Abstract

Monoculture and mixed plantations as seed source areas had an important role in climate change mitigation. This study aims to determine the composition of vegetation types and structures, biomass conditions, carbon storage and aboveground carbondioxide (CO2) uptake in monoculture and mixed plantations forests at the Rumpin Seed Source and Nursery Center. Calculation of carbon stocks using non-destructive methods with allometric formulas, and necromass calculations on forest floor litter. The results showed that the type composition and number of types found in mixed plantations patterns were more than monocultures. The horizontal structure indicates a regeneration and the vertical structure is dominated by stratum C. Carbon storage in mixed planting pattern amounted to 101,559 ton C/ha (high) with CO2 absorption of 372,722 ton CO2/ha. Carbon storage in monoculture planting pattern amounted to 55,232 ton C/ha (medium) with tons CO2 absorption of 202,700 ton CO2/ha. The differences in biomass, carbon storage, and CO2 sequestration of each plot are influenced by the diversity of stands types.
