      Abstract
Ulva lactuca has chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments that are important in biomedical application, particularly for cancer chemoprotection, heart and blood vessel disease prevention, cataract prevention, alzheimer's disease prevention, and other chronic diseases. U. lactuca as a promising biomaterial has strong antioxidant characteristics. Acceleration of the ultrasonic method in extraction produces higher yields with shorter extraction time. In this research, the promising solvent Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES) opens up new possibilities. In a 30 minutes ultrasonication, pigments with chloroform (K), NADES (N), and theirs combinations at different ratios (K100, K75N25, K50N50, K25N75, and N100) produced the best chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and carotenoid pigment characteristics, respectively, at the highest concentrations at treatment K75N25 (13,38±0,94 mg/L), K100 (10,21±1,10 mg/L), and N100 (17,59±0,54 mg/L). The compounds identified from the functional groups in hydrophobic U. lactuca pigments were alkanes, amides, aromatic and aromatic amines. The antioxidant activity of U. lactuca pigments were very strong; N100 (IC50 = 5,02 ppm), K100 (IC50 = 9,02 ppm), and N50K50 (IC50 = 17,22 ppm).
