Pengaruh Konflik Antar Orang Tua dan Toxic Parents terhadap Agresivitas Remaja Akhir

Abstract

Keberadaan toxic parents atau orang tua dengan ciri kasar, memfitnah, serta menimbulkan trauma hingga anak dewasa dan konflik orang tua dapat memicu permasalahan emosional dan memengaruhi kehidupan anak, sehingga anak memiliki sifat agresif hingga melakukan kekerasan. Perilaku agresif merupakan tingkah laku kekerasan secara fisik ataupun verbal terhadap individu atau objek lain yang dipelajari dari lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan serta pengaruh konflik orang tua dan toxic parents terhadap agresivitas remaja. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui media online menggunakan google form dengan jumlah 92 remaja usia 18-19 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode non probability sampling dengan teknik voluntary sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas konflik antar orang tua, tingkat toxic orang tua, serta agresivitas responden termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Konflik orang tua diukur menggunakan instrumen Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale (CPIC) oleh Grych et al. (1992) dan toxic parents diukur menggunakan instrumen Toxic Parents (Forward dan Buck 1992). Agresivitas remaja diukur menggunakan instrumen The Aggression Scale (Buss dan Perry 1992 dalam Hastuti dan Alfiasari 2020). Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan konflik orang tua berhubungan signifikan positif dengan toxic parents dan toxic parents berhubungan signifikan positif dengan agresivitas. Agresivitas dipengaruhi secara signifikan positif oleh toxic parents.

The existence of toxic parents or parents that are abusive, slanderous, as well as cause trauma to adult children and parental conflict can trigger emotional problems and affect children's lives, so that children have aggressive traits that can lead to violence. Aggressive behavior is violent behavior physically or verbally against individuals or other objects that are learned from the social environment. This study aims to analyze relationship and influence of interparental conflict and toxic parents on late adolescents’ aggression. The sample of this study was obtained through online media using google form with a total of 92 adolescents aged 18-19 years. This study uses a non-probability sampling method with a voluntary sampling technique. Interparental conflict was measured using the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale (CPIC) instrument by Grych et al. (1992) and toxic parents were measured using the Toxic Parents instrument (Forward and Buck 1992). Adolescent aggression was measured using the Aggression Scale instrument (Buss and Perry 1992 in Hastuti and Alfiasari 2020). The results showed that majority of interparental conflict, parents’ toxic and aggression belonged to the low category. Correlation test results show that interparental conflict was significantly positive related to toxic parents and toxic parents was significantly positive related to regression. Young adolescent aggression was influenced significantly and positively only by toxic parents.
