      Abstract
This research aim to gain information the performance of agronomic characters, broad sense heritability and correlation F4:5 generation of upland rice lines in Latosol Land Cimanggu, Bogor. The research was conducted from March 2004 until August 2004 in experiment farm BALITBIOGEN Cikeumeuh, Cimanggu Bogor. The experiment was conducted with 150 upland rice lines with 6 parental of upland rice varieties, but only 100 lines upland rice was analyzed in this experiment. This research used Head to Row method and Augmented Design with Completely Randomized Design with no replication for upland rice lines and 3 replications of parental lines. The results of this evaluation showed that F value differed for all agronomic characters except for number of spikelet per panicle, percentage of tilled grain and yield. Broad sense heritability for plant height, number of tillers, number of panicle, panicle length, percentage of tilled grain and 100 seed weight classified as high and for the number of spikelet per panicle and yield classified as medium. Correlation between plant height, number of panicle, panicle length and number of spikelet per panicle with yield was positive and significant, but correlation between number of tillers, percentage tilled grain and 100 seed weight with yield was not significant. Plant height, number of panicle and panicle length characters was used as criteria for selection, because these characters had high broad sense heritability and significant correlation with yield. The result of this research also showed that there are 20 lines of upland rice which are potential for further evaluation and development of upland rice. The lines are PMTOl-C-08, PMT02-C-12, PMT03-C-01, PMT05-C-23, PMT06- C-0l, PMT06-C-15, PMT06-C-21, PMT07-C-09, PMTl0-C-04, PMTl l-C-22, PMTl 1-C-47, PMT12-C-l l, PMT12-C-22, PMT12-C-31, PMT-15 C-14, PMTIS-C-34, PMT15-C-54, PMT18-C-35, PMT21-C-03 dan PMT21-C-09.
