Community Structure of Bivalve in Coastal Area of Panjang Island and Tarahan Island, Banten and Variation of Shell’s size measure.
Abstract
Coastal areas of Panjang island and Tarahan island has variety of substrates such as sand, and coral reef. This made possible the existence of bivalve community in this areas. The research was purposed to know the community structure of bivalves in the areas and the variation of shell size. This research had been done in May 2008 until September 2008. Samples of bivalve were taken by using randomly kuadrant transect method. The diversity index are ranged from 0.45 to 1.59, evenness index are ranged from 0.10 to 0.48, dominant index are ranged from 0.24 to 0.78, and similarity index are ranged from 0.18 to 0.50. Gafrarium divaricatum has obesity value (%Obesity) are ranged from 43.60% to 66.28%, while the relative height are ranged from 80.66% to 93.49%. Perna viridis has obesity value (%Obesity) are ranged from 19.09% to 38.67%, while the relative height are ranged from 38.17% to 71.60%. Keyword: Community structure, Bivalve, Variation of shell size
