      Abstract
      Ayam KUB secara umum digunakan sebagai salah satu bibit ayam petelur penghasil Day Old Chicken (DOC) untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap daging dan telur di Indonesia. Kualitas internal telur tetas menjadi salah satu tolak ukur kualitas DOC yang akan dihasilkan, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji perbedaan karakteristik kualitas fisik internal telur tetas dari induk parent stock (PS) yang berumur 40 dan 60 minggu. Peubah yang diamati meliputi lebar rongga udara, berat yolk, indeks yolk, warna yolk, berat albumen, indeks albumen, dan haugh unit. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 30 butir telur dari masing- masing induk berumur 40 dan 60 minggu yang berasal dari pembibitan ayam Taman Teknologi Pertanian (TTP) Cigombong, Bogor, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nyata pada berat albumen, berat yolk, dan warna yolk. Tidak terdapat perbedaan pada nilai indeks yolk, nilai HU, indeks albumen, dan lebar rongga udara. Berat alumen, berat yolk, dan warna yolk telur tetas dari induk ayam umur 40 minggu memiliki nilai lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan telur yang berasal dari induk ayam umur 60 minggu.
       
      KUB chickens is generally used as a breed of laying stock to produce Day Old Chicken (DOC) to fulfill the public requirement for local chicken meat and eggs in Indonesia. The internal quality of hatching eggs is one of the benchmarks for the quality of DOC, therefore this research was conducted to examine the internal quality characteristics of hatching eggs from the parent stock aged 40 and 60 weeks. Variables observed were included of the air cavity width, yolk weight, yolk index, yolk color, albumen weight, albumen index, and haugh units. There were 30 hatching eggs from each parent aged 40 weeks and 60 weeks produce by chicken breeding farm TTP Cigombong. The results showed significant differences in the albumen weight, yolk weight, and yolk color. There was no difference in the value of the yolk index, HU value, albumen index, and the width of the air cavity. The albumen weight, yolk weight, and yolk color hatching eggs from the parent stock aged 40 weeks were higher than from 60 weeks.
