      Abstract

Technological developments encourage innovation in various aspects including economic activity. One form of innovation that is increasingly developing is the development of payment systems towards digital cashless. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital cashless payment systems on economic growth in 11 G20 member countries and by income group. The method of analysis in this study is descriptive analysis and panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model and Pooled Least Square. The results of the analysis show that the digital non-cash variable with the largest transaction volume is debit cards and the variable with the highest volume growth is e-money. The debit card variable has a positive and significant effect on economic growth both in G20 member countries and based on their income level. The credit card variable only has a positive and significant effect on economic growth in G20 member countries and the middle-income country group. Governments and financial institutions in G20 member countries need to develop policies that can improve financial literacy to encourage public interest in utilizing digital financial services and need to strengthen the e-money payment system from cybercrime opportunities.
