      Dinamika Pelepasan Hara dalam Proses Dekomposisi Beberapa Jenis Daun

      Abstract
      Negara-negara di Eropa memiliki gagasan untuk menerapkan pertanian organik, dengan mengangkat isu tentang kesehatan pangan, sehingga negara-negara eksportir seperti Indonesia dipengaruhi untuk menerapkan pertanian organik, sebagai syarat produk-produk dapat diperjual belikan ke negara-negara di Eropa. Dengan adanya tekanan tersebut, salah satu perusahaan perkebunan kelapa yang ada di lahan gambut menerapkan sistem pertanian organik dengan tidak menggunakan pupuk sintetis dan pestisida. Ternyata setelah 13 tahun berlalu, produksi kelapa tetap stabil. Satu-satunya kemungkinan mengapa produksi kelapa tetap stabil, karena pengaruh dari tumbuhan bawah yang dipangkas dan dibiarkan begitu saja di kebun, sehingga memberikan input nutrisi melalui siklus hara. Mekanisme lepasnya hara dari serasah dan pangkasan tumbuhan bawah menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini, tentang bagaimana dinamika hara yang terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat dinamika dan kandungan unsur hara yang dilepaskan dari proses leaching dan dekomposisi serasah. Jenis serasah yang digunakan adalah daun Acacia mangium, kacang tanah, Nephrolepis sp, rumput benggala dan sawit. Wadah serasah dibuat dengan ukuran 0.2 m², kemudian serasah daun diletakan di dalam wadah dan dibiarkan di tempat terbuka selama 8 minggu pengamatan. Air yang ditampung hasil pencucian daun, akibat adanya hujan, pada minggu pertama sampai keempat, memiliki kandungan hara di dalamnya. Artinya serasah sudah melepaskan haranya melalui proses leaching dan dekomposisi di minggu-minggu awal tanpa perlu serasah terdekomposisi terlebih dahulu.       European countries have the idea of implementing organic agriculture, addressing food safety issues. As a result, exporting countries like Indonesia are influenced to adopt organic farming as a requirement for their products to be sold in European markets. Under this pressure, one coconut plantation company located on peatlands has adopted an organic farming system, by ceasing the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Surprisingly, after 13 years, coconut production remains stable. The only plausible reason for this stable production is the influence of undergrowth plants that are pruned and left in the plantation, providing nutrient input through the nutrient cycle. The mechanism of nutrient release from the litter and pruning of undergrowth plants becomes the focus of this research, studying the dynamics of nutrient occurrence. This study aims to observe the dynamics and content of released nutrients through litter's leaching and decomposition process. Various types of litter used include Acacia mangium leaves, peanuts, Nephrolepis sp, guinea grass, and oil palm. The litter containers were made with a size of 0.2 m², and the litter was placed inside them and left in an open area for an 8-week observation period. Water collected from leaching due to rain during the first to fourth weeks showed nutrient content. This indicating that the litter had already released its nutrients through leaching and decomposition in the early weeks without the need for complete litter decomposition.
