      Abstract

Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis), are star-shaped nuts that originate from the Amazon. They can be used to produce various high-value products, including sacha inchi oil. The cultivation of sacha inchi is still limited to monoculture, with few adopting an agroforestry system. Tree species such as calliandra, gamal, and lamtoro, which are legume species providing nutrients to the soil, can be combined with sacha inchi. This research aims to examine the effects of three different types of compost fertilizers on the growth of sacha inchi seedlings and explain the best type of compost for the growth of sacha inchi seedlings. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with compost as the factor and 4 treatments. The results showed that the application of compost significantly affected stem diameter and number of leaves, while the type of compost had no significant effect on other parameters. The K3 (soil + rice husk charcoal + lamtoro leaf compost) had the most positive effect on stem diameter, number of leaves, dry weight, and total fresh weight of sacha inchi.
