      Abstract

Population, economic and industrial growth have resulted in land use change in Keduang Sub Watershed, Bengawan Solo Watershed. Land use change is expected to cause changes in discharge and sediment in Keduang Sub Watershed. The research was conducted to analyze the impact of land use change for 10 years on discharge and sediment. This study used ArcGIS, ArcSWAT and SWAT-CUP software. The data processing stage is divided into simulation, calibration and validation stages. The results of model calibration and validation provide good and satisfactory results. Land use in the 2012–2021 period experienced an increase in area in secondary dryland forests, plantations, settlements, water bodies and rice fields. The decrease in area occurred in dry land agriculture, shrubs and dry land + shrubs. Estimates of discharge and sediment in 2012 land use were 11,533 m3/s and 750.670,4 tons/year, while in 2021 land use were 11,306 m3/s and 430.202,9 tons/year. Land use change in 2012-2021 did not have a significant impact on reducing run-off and discharge coefficients, a decrease of 1%, but had a significant impact on reducing sediment loads (43%).
