      Abstract

The development of technology has led to increased urbanization and greater population density that can affect the quality of life and mental health. Mental health recovery can be achieved by utilizing the forest ecosystem as a healing forest. This research aimed to determine potential locations and health response of healing forest in Bogor Botanical Gardens. The determination of locations was done through three stages, which are spatial analysis, measurement of biophysical environmental parameters and measurement of health response. Results found that Bogor Botanical Gardens can be developed as healing forest site by selecting morning conditions, as the most ideal time. Healing forest activities can lower blood pressure, reduce heart rate, decrease stress levels, and increase oxygen saturation. There were significant changes in each health response before and after participating in the healing forest towards the ideal condition (p<0.05). This indicates that interacting with nature and spending time in the forest can provide benefits for both physical and mental health.
