      Abstract

The Planetary Boundary Layer, also known as the Atmospheric Boundary Layer, is an essential parameter in developing weather prediction models and studying air pollution, which is closely related to the atmosphere-surface interactions. This research aims to determine the distribution of the PBL height in various regions and identify the methods used to determine the PBL height. The method employed is a systematic literature review covering the past ten years (2013-2023). The research findings reveal various values of the PBL height in different study areas. In Africa, the PBL height ranges from 216 to 1321 meters; in South America, from 185 to 1493 meters; in North America, from 437 to 1820 meters; in Asia, from 485 to 1666 meters; and in Europe, from 397 to 1358 meters. The determination of the PBL height is carried out using various approaches or estimation methods. The most commonly used methods are the Bulk Richardson Number method and the vertical gradient of potential temperature method.
