      Abstract
      Infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal merupakan masalah utama pada hewan peliharaan, namun masih terabaikan khususnya di Indonesia. Infeksi protozoa gastrointestinal merupakan penyakit dengan gejala yang asimtomatik dan perlu diperhatikan karena penyebarannya yang cepat dan beberapa diantaranya bersifat zoonosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara karakteristik responden terhadap tingkat pengetahuan, pemahaman, serta tindakan yang dimiliki terkait infeksi protozoa pada kucing. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan mempelajari kejadian infeksi protozoa pada pasien kucing di Mayda Animal Care dan iVet Clinic Dramaga periode Januari hingga Desember 2022. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan September hingga Desember 2022, dengan merekap data rekam medik pasien kucing yang terinfeksi protozoa dan kuesioner untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan, pemahaman, serta tindakan pemilik hewan terhadap infeksi protozoa. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pendidikan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman infeksi protozoa pada kucing. Berdasarkan data rekam medik, kasus infeksi protozoa lebih tinggi di Mayda Animal Care dibandingkan iVet Clinic Dramaga. Kasus tertinggi infeksi protozoa di Mayda Animal Care pada bulan Oktober, sedangkan iVet Clinic Dramaga pada bulan Agustus
       
      Gastrointestinal protozoan infections are a major problem in pets, but are still overlooked, especially in Indonesia. Gastrointestinal protozoan infection is a disease with asymptomatic symptoms and needs attention because of its rapid spread and some of them are zoonotic. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of respondents and their level of knowledge, understanding, and actions related to protozoan infections in cats. This study also aims to study the incidence of protozoan infections in cat patients at Mayda Animal Care and iVet Clinic Dramaga from January to December 2022. Data collection was carried out from September to December 2022, by recapitulating medical record data of cat patients infected with protozoa and questionnaires to determine level of knowledge, understanding, and actions of animal owners towards protozoa infection. Based on the results of the questionnaire, there was a significant relationship between education and the level of knowledge and understanding of protozoan infection in cats. Based on medical record data, cases of protozoan infection are higher at Mayda Animal Care than iVet Clinic Dramaga. The highest case of protozoan infection at Mayda Animal Care was in October, while iVet Clinic Dramaga was in August
