      Pengaruh Irigasi Berselang terhadap Kuat Geser (Shear Strength) Tanah Regosol dan Latosol Dramaga, Bogor, Jawa Barat

      Abstract
      System of Rice Intensification (SRI) adalah teknik budidaya padi yang menerapkan irigasi secara berselang atau terputus-putus (intermittent irrigation). Hal tersebut berpengaruh kepada beberapa sifat fisik tanah, salah satunya adalah Kuat Geser Tanah (Soil Shear Strength). Penelitian yang bertujuan mengetahui respon kuat geser tanah sebagai akibat penerapan irigasi berselang, mengetahui hubungan kuat geser tanah dengan kadar air tanah, dan mengetahui pengaruh suhu tanah terhadap kadar air tanah dilakukan pada dua jenis tanah yang berbeda yaitu Regosol dan Latosol Dramaga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa irigasi berselang sangat berpengaruh terhadap kuat geser. Setelah irigasi dihentikan kuat geser cenderung meningkat dengan waktu. Pada hari ke-7 nilai kuat geser tanah Regosol lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Latosol masing-masing adalah 5,99 Kg/cm2 dan 5,55 Kg/cm2, jauh diatas nilai kuat geser pada hari ke-0 yang masing-masing adalah 2,99 Kg/cm2 dan 1,72 Kg/cm2. Hubungan antara kadar air dan kuat geser tergolong sangat erat dengan nilai koefisien korelasi r (0,9824 untuk Regosol dan 0,9589 untuk Latosol). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh kadar air tanah terhadap kuat geser sangat besar.
       
      System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is a rice cultivation technique that applying intermittent irrigation. This will affect several physical properties of the soil, one of which is Soil Shear Strength. Research aimed at determining the response of soil shear strength to intermittent irrigation, knowing the relationship between soil shear strength and soil water content, and knowing the effect of soil temperature on soil water content was carried out on two different soil: Regosol and Latosol Dramaga. The results showed that intermittent irrigation is very influential on shear strength. After irrigation is stopped, soil shear strength tends to increase with time. On the seventh day, the soil shear strength value of Regosol (5,99 Kg/cm²) was higher than that of Latosol (5,55 Kg/cm²). The values are far above the shear strength value on day 0 which was 2,99 Kg/cm² and 1,72 Kg/cm², respectively. The relationship between moisture content and shear strength is very close as indicated by veri high correlation coefficient r (0,9824 for Regosol and 0,9589 for Latosol). This shows that the effect of soil moisture content on shear strength is very large.
