      Abstract
      Dalam mengembangkan platform seperti research information management system (RIMS), sangat penting untuk memperhatikan motivasi serta pengalaman seorang peneliti. Karena pengalaman dan motivasi peneliti untuk menggunakan kembali layanan pada suatu platform menjadi indikator dalam menentukan keberhasilan platform tersebut. Namun, saat ini peneliti hanya melihat sedikit nilai dari RIMS yang menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi peneliti dalam menggunakan platformnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menangkap motivasi, masalah, dan kebutuhan dosen sebagai peneliti dalam menggunakan research information management system dengan menggunakan design thinking. Penelitian ini berfokus pada problem space, sehingga hanya akan menggunakan tiga tahapan pada design thinking, yaitu understand, observe, dan define point of view. Luaran pada penelitian ini berupa informasi masalah dan kebutuhan dosen, yang mana diimplementasikan dalam bentuk empathy map, persona, customer journey map, dan how might we question yang dapat digunakan sebagai peluang solusi untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan pengalaman dosen dalam menggunakan RIMS.
       
      In developing a research information management system (RIMS), it is essential to pay attention to the motivation and experiences of a researcher. Because the experience and motivation of researchers to reuse services on a platform are platform success indicator. Currently,researchers see little value from RIMS, which causes researcher’s low motivation to use the platform. This study aims to capture the motivations, problems, and needs of lecturers as researchers, in using research information management systems using design thinking. The research focuses on the problem space, so it will only use three stages in design thinking: understand, observe, and define points of view. The output of this research is in the form of information on the problems and needs of lecturers, which is implemented in the form of an empathy map, persona, customer journey map, and how might we questions which can be used as solutions to increase lecturer motivation and experience in using RIMS.
