      Abstract

An example of a chicken clump that has been made efforts to improve genetic quality is IPB-D1 chicken. IPB-D1 chicken clumps have fast growth and good body resistance to Newcastle Disease (ND) or tetelo and Salmonella sp. IPB-D1 chicken selection is based on rapid weight growth to obtain prospective IPB-D3 (male line) chicken strains. This study aims to examine and evaluate the uniformity of body weight and body measurements in IPB-D3 G2 chickens. The research was conducted from September 2022 to January 2022 at the Field Laboratory of Livestock Genetic Breeding, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, IPB. The observed variables were dorsal length, neck length, wing length, chest length, chest width, chest circumference, inner chest, shank ̧shank circumference, femur length, and tibia length. The data were analyzed descriptively and t-test. The body size of the second generation IPB-D3 chickens aged 2 to 12 weeks varies. The coefficient of diversity ranged from 5.78% to 27.53%, belonging to the medium and high categories. The best variables for estimating growth or body weight are chest circumference for males and femur length for females.
