      Attitude of Dairy Cattle Farmers Towards Brucellosis at Kawasan Usaha Peternakan (Kunak) District Bogor

      Abstract
      Farmer’s attitude plays an important role for prevention and control the brucellosis in cattle. This study used to identify the level of attitude dairy cattle farmers and the factors that influences the farmer’s attitude. The data used for this study are a secondary source data received from a previous research regarding of Brucellosis 2018 at Kawasan Usaha Peternakan (KUNAK), District Bogor done by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, IPB University and Fisheries and Livestock Office of District Bogor. This studied were conduct at KUNAK, District Bogor with 65 respondents to find out the attitude farmers towards brucellosis by cross sectional method. The data collected were analyzed by descriptively and quantitatively. The quantitative analysis was done through chi square test in determining the association of risks factor affecting level of dairy cattle farmer’s attitude and odds ratio (OR) in determining the strength of affecting level of dairy cattle farmer’s attitude. Based on this study, majority (77%) of farmers have a positive attitude towards brucellosis. Farmers showed positive attitude about brucellosis mainly in causes (83.1%), transmission (60%) and clinical signs (60%). Risk factors that influence the attitude of farmers are knowledge, history of abortion and history of vaccination have a significance value with the dairy cattle farmers attitude. Level of dairy cattle farmer’s attitude can be improved through counseling by veterinary service directly when doing the vaccination and treatment of abortion.
