Ayam merawangarab sebagai ayam silangan dari dua rumpun ayam lokal merawang dan arab merupakan upaya pengembangan kualitas ayam kampung di bidang genetika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh komposisi genetik yang berbeda yaitu merawang 25%, 50%, 62,5%, dan 75% terhadap ukuran tubuh ayam merawangarab generasi enam. Penelitian berupa pengukuran terhadap peubah berupa panjang shank, lingkar shank, panjang femur, panjang tibia, lingkar dada, panjang dada, dalam dada, lebar dada, panjang punggung, panjang sayap, dan bobot badan dari ayam berumur 2 minggu sampai 12 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ukuran tubuh ayam merawangarab dengan komposisi genetik yang berbeda mengalami pertambahan ukuran seiring pertambahan umur. Komposisi genetik yang berbeda pada ayam merawangarab generasi enam tidak berpengaruh terhadap ukuran tubuh ayam. Ukuran tubuh pada ayam dengan komposisi genetik merawang 25%, merawang 50%, merawang 62,5%, dan merawang 75% sama dan mendekati seragam. Merawangarab chicken is a crossed breed chicken from two local breeds, merawang, and arab chicken families that had been an effort to develop the quality of native chickens in genetics. This study examines the effect of different genetic compositions, namely merawang 25%, 50%, 62.5%, and 75% on the body size of sixth-generation merawangarab chickens. The study was in the form of body parts measurements of merawangarab chickens including shank length, shank circumference, femur length, tibia length, chest circumference, chest-length, chest depth, chest width, back length, wing length, and body weight during the age of 2 weeks to 12 weeks. The results showed that the body size of merawangarab chickens with different genetic compositions increased in size with age. The different genetic compositions of the sixth generation of merawangarab chickens had no effect on the body size of the chickens. The diversity of body size in chickens with the genetic composition of merawang 25%, merawang 50%, merawang 62.5%, and merawang 75% were same and close to uniform.
