yaitu padi gogo (O. sativa) melalui sistem agroforestri.
(i) tanpa pupuk (P0), (ii) SRF CS dosis 0,5% bobot 0,03 g (P1), (iii) SRF CS 0,5%
0,01 g (P2), (iv) SRF CS 0,7% 0,03 g (P3), (v) SRF CS 0,7% 0,01 g (P4), dan (vi)
pupuk NPK konvensional. Uji pertumbuhan menggunakan rancangan petak
terpisah 2 faktor.
fase perkecambahan, baik sengon maupun padi memiliki cadangan makanan
(endosperma), sehingga tidak memerlukan nutrisi tambahan. SRF P2 menghasilkan
adanya persaingan antar tanaman.
Indonesian timber production in 2020 reached 81,3 million m3
, which
decreased from the previous year's 84.6 million m3
. The demand for timber in
Indonesia is ± 82 million m3
/year. The gap between timber demand and production
needs to be filled urgently. Sengon (F. moluccana) logs account for 12% of timber
production in Indonesia, but production is concentrated in Java with a dominant
monoculture cropping pattern. The land area for plant cultivation is decreasing. The
agroforestry system between sengon and crops, namely upland rice (O. sativa), can
be used to optimize land. Upland rice is rice that can grow on dry land. One of the
superior varieties is IPB 9G rice. Agroforestry of sengon and upland rice usually
has a limiting factor related to soil fertility. The growth of sengon and upland rice
in dry land can be increased by applying slow-release fertilizer (SRF) with a
mixture of chitosan (CS).
The objectives of this study were (i) to analyze the application of SRF on
germination and growth of sengon as well as upland rice, (ii) to analyze the level of
nutrient release in SRF, and (iii) to analyze the effect of agroforestry cropping
patterns on the growth of sengon and upland rice. The germination test used a
completely randomized design with 1 factor (type of fertilizer) with 6 levels,
namely, (i) without fertilizer (P0), (ii) SRF CS dose of 0.5% weight 0.03 g (P1),
(iii) SRF CS 0.5% 0.01 g (P2), (iv) SRF CS 0.7% 0.03 g (P3), (v) SRF CS 0.7%
0.01 g (P4), and (vi) conventional NPK fertilizer. Growth test using a 2-factor split plot design. The main factor was the cropping pattern with 3 levels, sengon
monoculture (MS), rice monoculture (MP), and agroforestry of sengon-rice (AF).
The second factor was the type of fertilizer with 6 levels. The research was
conducted in the Silviculture laboratory and greenhouse, Faculty of Forestry and
Environment, IPB.
The results of the germination test showed that SRF P4 produced a high
germination percent on sengon seeds, while P2 produced high germination on
upland rice. However, these results were not higher than the control (P0). This
indicates that in the germination phase, both sengon and rice have food reserves
(endosperm), so they do not require additional nutrients. SRF P2 produced high
plant growth in sengon, while in upland rice, P2 and P4 produced high growth in
the greenhouse growth test. However, the growth results obtained were not
significantly different from P0. The agroforestry pattern produced lower growth
than monoculture in all growth variables. This is thought to be due to competition
between plants. CS-NPK SRF releases nutrients more slowly (47.65% N; 85.01%
P; and 31.80% K) than conventional fertilizers. The slow release of nutrients from
SRF can reduce the number of nutrients lost to the environment and increase the
efficiency of nutrient absorption by plants.
