Kajian Konsentrasi Pengunjung dan Infrastruktur untuk Mendukung Pengelolaan Keberlanjutan Koleksi Pohon di Kebun Raya Bogor
Abstract
As a plant conservation institution that is more than 200 years old, Bogor Botanic Gardens (BBG) with its rich collection continues to develop functions including tourist attraction so that infrastructure development consequence cannot be avoided . The death of a collection of trees as an aspect of the dynamics of a collection that is documented is an indicator of the sustainability of BBG landscape
management. By identifying and analyzing the causes of death of the collection, management actions can be pursued in the context of the sustainability of the tree collection of botanic gardens.
This study aims to examine visitor concentration and infrastructure development to support the sustainable management of tree collections in the Bogor Botanic Gardens by analyzing the dynamics of tree collection mortality, the spatial distribution of visitor concentration variables and infrastructure development, the relationship between the two variables on collection tree mortality both separately and simultaneously, the contribution the two variables on dead collections using the AHP method, as well as a review of tree collection management at BBG.
The dynamics of the BBG tree collection continued to experience a decrease in numbers due to the death of the collection which in this study was analyzed based on tree collection data. The spatial distribution of mortality in the tree collection is concentrated in certain locations/vacations with unfavorable physical environmental conditions, such as steep slopes, poor drainage, and insufficient
lighting. Physiological factors in locations with high tree collection mortality are also indicated in certain tribes with specific pest attacks. Descriptively, the spatial distribution of visitors with a high preference is at a location that is different from locations with a high tree mortality rate. Differences in the location of death of high tree collections can also be seen in a comparison of the spatial distribution of dense
infrastructure development. Based on statistical analysis, the effect of visitors and infrastructure development proved insignificant to collection mortality both separately and simultaneously. On the other hand, the AHP method can indicate the magnitude of the contribution of the influence of visitors and infrastructure development by including the comparison variables in the form of the slope of the
land and the density of tree collections in the vak. The results of the AHP stated that the contribution of each variable to the death of tree collection based on its ranking: land slope of 29.0%, visitor preferences of 28.2%, collection density in voids of 22.0%, and infrastructure development. 20.8%.
Areas with high collection mortality need to get more attention in landscape management for the sustainability of BBG tree collections, especially in visitor management and infrastructure development. An overview of landscape management for the sustainability of the BBG tree collection from the visitor and infrastructure variables identified in the framework of the institution's objectives as conservation, research, education, tourism and environmental services. Even though the results of the analysis of the influence of the two variables are not significant, it is hoped that the recommendations for managing the landscape will be a valuable consideration for the manager.
