Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Motivasi Beternak Domba

Abstract

Cimahpar’s Village represent one of a village in Bogor City which some of its society are sheep farmers. Motivation of sheep farmers is important aspect in livestock development. The research aims are needed the sheep farmer characteristics, motivational level of sheep farmers, and influencing of motivation level factors of sheep farmers in Cimahpar’s Village, Subdistrict of North Bogor, Bogor City, West Java. The research conducted on June-July 2005 at Cimahpar’s Village, Subdistrict of North Bogor, Bogor City, West Java. The total of sheep farmers as population are 390 farmers. Sample take by simple random sampling, totaly 63 farmers. The results indicated that the motivation of sheep farmers in Cimahpar’s Village categorized medium. It’s mean that sheep farmers in Cimahpar’s Village have motivation to manage sheep livestock, including to increase sheep productivity. Those motivation influencing by age, number of family members, education and knowledge of market information. This research recommended as follow. Sheep farmer need facilitate to build group farmer sheep that orientate to increase sheep farmer economic condition. The institute expected able to assist the sheep farmer in marketing and on farm aspect, including livestock produce accomplishment. All the activity will be more succeed if followed with the activity of empowerment of sheep farmer.
