      Pengaruh Gaya Pengasuhan dan Dukungan Sosial terhadap Penyesuaian Diri Remaja pada Keluarga Pekerja Migran Indonesia

      Abstract
      Penyesuaian diri adalah suatu kemampuan untuk membuat hubungan yang memuaskan antara individu dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh karakteristik remaja, karakteristik keluarga, gaya pengasuhan, dan dukungan sosial terhadap penyesuaian diri remaja pada keluarga Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode non-probability sampling dengan teknik convenience sampling pada 10 SMP/sederajat di Kecamatan Kesugihan, Kabupaten Cilacap, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini melibatkan 160 remaja yang merupakan siswa SMP/sederajat dengan rentang usia 12-16 tahun, didominasi oleh remaja perempuan, dan tinggal bersama kakek/nenek. PMI didominasi oleh ibu sebesar 89,4 persen, dominan berstatus menikah, dan termasuk dalam keluarga kecil. Indeks rata-rata gaya pengasuhan ibu lebih baik dibandingkan gaya pengasuhan ayah. Dukungan sosial tertinggi diperoleh dari orang tua. Penyesuaian diri remaja berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gaya pengasuhan dan dukungan sosial mempunyai hubungan positif sekaligus berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penyesuaian diri remaja pada keluarga PMI.
       
      Adjustment is an ability to make a satisfying relationship between the individual and the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adolescent’s characteristics, family’s characteristics, parenting styles, and social support on adolescent adjustment among Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) families. This research method used non-probability sampling method with convenience sampling technique at 10 junior high schools in Kesugihan Sub-district, Cilacap District, Central Java Province. This study involved 160 junior high school students with an age range of 12-16 years, dominated by girls, and lived with their grandparents. The PMI is dominated by mothers at 89.4 percent, the dominant status is married, and belongs to a small family. The average index of mother's parenting style is better than father's parenting style. The highest social support was obtained from parents. Adolescent’s self-adjustment is in the medium category. The results showed that parenting style and social support have a positive relationship as well as a significant influence on adolescent’s self-adjustment among Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) families.
