One solution in solving economic and environmental problems is ecotourism. Ecotourism is defined as a responsible travel to natural areas in order to preserve the environment, support the welfare of the community and involve interpretation and education.
One of the ecotourism that is engaged in environmental conservation is Boonpring Ecotourism. Boonpring ecotourism has excellent rides in the form of various types of bamboo and several springs, because this ecotourism is included in ecotourism which is developing very rapidly. Development continues to be carried out by the ecotourism to anticipate the increase in the number of visitors. This has the potential to threaten sustainability on the ecological side, namely destroying the bamboo forest and springs that exist there. On the other hand, if conservation is carried out radically without looking at the economic conditions of the surrounding community, it also has the potential to cause problems. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on Ecotourism Sustainability as seen from the Ecological Dimension, Economic Dimension, and Human Resource Dimension. In addition, to get an idea of how valuable boonpring ecotourism is both in terms of the ecological benefits it contains and its economic benefits to the community as well as to assist in the decision-making process in the future, it is necessary to conduct research on Ecotourism Valuation. Based on the two related research results, a Sustainability Strategy was formulated.
The results of the Sustainability Status Analysis Research as a whole show that the condition of Boonpring Ecotourism is in the fairly sustainable category with an average index value of 59.76% with details of the Ecological Dimension of 54.46%, Economic Dimension of 63.79%, Human Resources Dimension by 61.03%. The value of the Economic Dimension is evidenced by the value of the Economic Valuation which as a whole shows the value of ecotourism of Rp. 8,811.184,498 with details of Ecotourism Turnover Value of Rp. 4,101,858,300, Value of Traders' Income of Rp. 4,365,000,000, Carbon Sequestration Value of Rp. 212,076,480, The value of the MHP is Rp. 132,910,200. Based on the results of these two studies, several strategies can be formulated in order to improve ecotourism sustainability, among others, increasing employee salaries, balanced by increasing human resources through training, ratification of local labor regulations, ratification of conservation regulations, increasing education to tourists, and further research is needed on the power of support tourism.
