Evaluasi Program Komposting Sampah Rumah Tangga

Abstract

The waste management in Depok is a prime problem caused by rapid inhabitant growth with its social and economic activity so that increasing the quantity of middens. In order to solve the problems, the local government launched the Household Composting Program in Griya Pancoran Mas Indah, 14th administrative unit, Rangkapanjaya Baru Sub-district, Pancoran Mas District, Depok City, held from June 2008 until now. The target of this program is 310 households in Griya Pancoran Mas Indah. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of this program that is behavioral change caused by household participation level on this program. The analyses used in this study are interviews and questionnaires. The amounts of 77 respondents were chosen randomly and represented each neighborhood association. The tools of analysis were used namely frequency table, cross tabulation, Spearman Correlation Test, and Chi-Square Correlation Test. The implementation of this program was to fare well because the objectives, collective action, and collective agreement are appropriate to the terms of reference, however the stakeholders was not perform their function well and the phase of program was not covering on monitoring and evaluation phase yet. The result of primary data tabulation shows that the household participation level on this program tended to high because of the influence of internal factors (age, level of education, level of revenue, duration of work and be a resident of Griya Pancoran Mas Indah) and external factors (area of yard, attendance frequency and elucidation of program). The household participation level affected behavioral change (knowledge, attitude, and action) to manage domestic waste. According to the result of this study, the composting program in Griya Pancoran Mas Indah was successfully conducted on 14th administrative unit and can be implemented in the other sub-district in order to improve any case which not appropriate to terms of reference.
