Determinan Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Sektor Industri Pengolahan di Provinsi Jawa Barat (Periode Tahun 2015 - 2021)

Abstract

Provinsi Jawa Barat merupakan provinsi dengan populasi terpadat di Indonesia menjadi potensi besar sekaligus tantangan secara ekonomi dan sumber daya manusia dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi. Industri pengolahan sebagai leading sector perekonomian menyumbang kontribusi besar terhadap PDB nasional maupun PDRB Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan deskripsi terkait kondisi serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri pengolahan di Jawa Barat dengan menggunakan data cross section 27 kabupaten maupun kota yang ada di Jawa Barat serta data time-series selama 7 tahun dari tahun 2015 hingga 2021. Alat yang digunakan adalah regresi data panel dengan Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Hasil estimasi regresi menunjukkan bahwa variabel Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB), investasi industri, dan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri pengolahan, sedangkan variabel unit industri, produktivitas tenaga kerja, dan dummy Covid-19 memberi pengaruh negatif dan signifikan. Variabel lainnya yakni upah minimum kabupaten tidak berpengaruh terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor industri pengolahan.

West Java is the most populated province in Indonesia which could be a great opportunity and challenges economically and human resources for economic growth. The manufacturing industry as the leading economic sector contributes the largest to the national GDP and the GRDP of West Java. This research aims to describe the conditions and factors that affect the employment of manufacturing industrial sector in West Java by using cross section data from 27 districts and cities in West Java and time-series data for 7 years in the period 2015 to 2021. The tool used in this research is panel data regression with Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of the research found that the variables of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), investment of manufacturing industry, and human development index (HDI) had a significant positive effect on the absorption of labor in the manufacturing industrial sector, while the number of industrial units, labor productivity, and the Covid-19 dummy have a significant negative effect. Other variables such as district minimum wage has no significant effect on employment in the manufacturing industrial sector.
