      Abstract
Perlakuan diberikan selama empat pekan didahului satu pekan aklimatisasi.

Exposure to artificial light that deviates from the environment natural lighting the is predicted to impact metabolism and anxiety, given the light significance in synchronizing circadian rhythms. Despite the bidirectional relationship between varying duration consequences of photoperiod on metabolism and anxiety being well addressed, studies have been limited to the particular photoperiods effect with diverse protocols. This study examined the various photoperiods effect, including omission of light and dark periods and short and long photoperiods, on weight gain and anxiety-related behavior as proxies for explaining metabolic and anxiety. A total of 15 male mice (Mus musculus L.) aged four weeks were divided into four photoperiod treatment groups (0-, 6-, 18-, and 24-hours light period) and a control group (12 hours light period). Measurements of weight and anxiety-related behavior (open field test and light-dark box test) were performed before and after treatment for four weeks, preceded by one week of acclimatization. Housing in these conditions results in accelerated weight gain and anxiety-related behaviors compared to controls. However, a statistically significant effect was found only for constant dark treatment and is associated with many anxiety-related behavior variables but insignificant for the rest. These findings that dark constant can enhance the anxiety response.
