Land Suitability Evaluation Of Guava Crop (Psidium Guajava) At Bogor Regency By Using Geographical Information System
Abstract
Currently medicinal crop were pavorited by society because they have many advantages, besides they may cure various diseases, they also can be used as economics sources to farmers. One of these medicinal crop is guava crop, where not only it’s leaf can be sold, and also it’s fruit. To develop guava crop at Bogor Regency, it needs land suitability evaluation. The evaluation plays in development of guava crop especially at suitable place, so that it’s development can be more efficient and effective. The aim of this research was to map land suitability of guava crop at Bogor Regency, to map of land suitability evaluation with it’s actual status at Bogor Regency, and to evaluate location of center guava crops according to land suitability. This research method used geographical information system consisting two phases; secondary data collection and data analysis phase. Secondary data were: topography map, land system map, satellite image ( Landsat TM7), rainfall data, and few statistical data. The analyses were divided into five category: Landsat image analysis, topography data analysis, land systems analysis, rainfall analysis, and land suitability analysis. The result of the research was presented in a map. The reason is a map as spatial data presentation has visual appearance and has information which store in tabular data form. According to the land suitability evaluation analysis of guava crop at Bogor Regency, the land suitability class of S1 has 2,40 % (7.065,326 ha), S2 (S2w, S2tw, S2mw, S2mwt, S2m, S2mt) 12,82 % (37.650,770 ha), S3 (S3w, S3mw, S3emw, S3mtw, S3tw, S3e, S3m, S3em) equal to 50,82 % (149.250,679 ha), and N equal to 33,96 % (99.727,922 ha). According to it actual survey area, the center of guava crops were found dominant at land suitability of class S3.
