The existence of educational institutions is an important capital for humanresource development for future generations so that they have the opportunity tolearn and at the same time understand environmental problems. Pondok Pesantrenis the oldest educational institution in Indonesia, which existed before the birth of
the modern education system (Abdillah 2002).
Pesantren is an Islamic institution that can make an important contribution toenvironmental care. Pesantren is an important component and can become animportant institution as an agent of change in the behavior and attitudes of thecommunity in caring for and participating in the maintenance of natural resourcesand the environment. for environmental conservation and natural resourcemanagement.
Darut Tafsir Islamic Boarding School is located in Kp. Pabuaran Kaum Rt
03/02 Cibanteng Ciampea Kab. Bogor, This Islamic boarding school was chosenbecause it is one of the oldest Islamic boarding schools in West Bogor so, it ishoped that it can provide an example for other pesantren to improve theenvironmental behavior of students. The research objectives are: (1) to examinethe level of environmental knowledge, (2) to analyze the level of conservationattitudes, and (3) to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of
conservation with environmental behavior. The descriptive statistical analysismethod is used to study and analyze the level of knowledge, conservationattitudes and environmental behavior of students. The Multiple Linear RegressionAnalysis method is used to see the effect of knowledge variables (X1) andconservation attitude (X2) on environmental behavior (Y).
The results showed that (i) the level of environmental knowledge of
students on average was 73.5%, and conservation attitudes were 60.5%. (ii), theenvironmental behavior of students has an average value of 65.3% and (iii) Thelinear regression equation showed that the independent variable knowledge (X1)
with a regression coefficient of 0.846 and conservation attitudes (X2) with aregression coefficient of 0.067 has an influence on environmental behavior (Y).
This indicates that if there is no conservation knowledge and attitude,
environmental behavior will decrease.
