The current pandemic condition makes non-cyclical consumer stocks an option as defensive stocks, because primary consumer goods will continue to be sought. Stock price movements are time series data. Cluster analysis of time series data requires different algorithms and clustering procedures compared to static data. The distances commonly used in this grouping are Euclidean and dynamic time warping (DTW). This study compares the two distances to classify issuers of non-cyclical consumer stocks. The results obtained from this study are that grouping using Euclidean distance and DTW is better paired with the Average linkage algorithm than Ward linkage based on the largest Cophenetic value. Therefore, the grouping process is continued using the Average linkage. The grouping of the two distances is evaluated by the Silhouette coefficient and produces three groups from each method. Silhouette value in DTW is greater than Euclidean, in other words, the diversity within the group produced by DTW is smaller than Euclidean. Grouping using DTW resulted in three groups with the first group consisting of one issuer, namely PT Gudang Garam Tbk with issuer code GGRM. This group has a higher average share price compared to the other two groups. The second group consists of 12 issuers, share prices in this group are in the middle class. The third group is the group with the most members with 49 issuers, this group has a much cheaper price than the other groups.
