The application of bentonite-zeolite in increased quality of vetiver oil the result of destillate at Garut regency.
Abstract
Vetiver oil is one of essential oils type which has been produced commercially and recognized in international market wich is one of deodorant material applied widely at cosmetic manufactures, perfume, and as component of soap deodorant. In this research, we adsorbed vetiver oil pollutant bentonite, zeolite, and their mixtures at concentration of 2 % (w/v) to determine the best of adsorbent application in increasing quality of the vetiver oil. Quality standard applied was Indonesia National Standard number 06-2386-2006 for vetiver oil. The yield of vetiverol by using bentonite was adsorbent 61,14 %, by zeolite was 68,42 %, by mixture 0,04 (b/z) was 66,48 %, and by mixture 0,05 (b/z) was 66,41 %. Based on the results, zeolite can give higher purification of vetiverol of increase vetiver oil quality.
