      Abstract

Smartphone produce harmful heat and electromagnetic radiation that need protection to reduce their effects. Sansevieria trifasciata is known to lower electromagnetic radiation on some electronic equipment. The study aimed to determine the best formula for PVA-extract of S. trifasciata that optimally lowers the effects of radiation. The films were prepared with various formulas by varying the final volume of the film, the ratio of PVA:extract and the concentration of the extract. Heat radiation was tested with PASCO CI-6505B and electromagnetic radiation with GM-3120. The best extract from the radiation test is acetone extract in a film volume of 100 mL. The best ratio produced by the film with the ratio of PVA:acetone extract is 1:2 and the best acetone concentration is 5%.
