      Abstract
Seed quality testing needs to be done quickly, simply, and accurately because seeds quickly decline. The aim of the study was to develop a rapid test method for viability and vigor of chickpea seeds usingurine sugar analysis paper(WIPE). Experiments were carried out on 2 varieties of Baguz and Maxipro beans separately, consisting of the same 2 stages. The first stage, the manufacture of seed lots with rapid physical aging at a temperature of 40 oC and humidity >90%, was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with an aging factor consisting of 5 levels: 0, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours. . The second stage, the development of seed viability and vigor test using USAP through optimization of soaking time of 4, 8, and 12 hours. Regression analysis was carried out to see the relationship between viability and vigor (x) and color change in USAP (y), with the equation y = a+bx. Viability testing using USAP was effective for the Baguz variety, but not for Maxipro. Glucose testing on the Baguz variety was effective at 4 hours of immersion. Protein testing is effective at 4 and 8 hours of immersion, but showed optimal results at 12 hours of immersion. Glucose testing on Maxipro only differentiated damaged seeds from live seeds at 8 hours of immersion. The protein in Maxipro was not detected because the USAP strip changes did not match. Seed quality does not affect the pH value.
