Potensi Simpanan Karbon Tanah di Areal Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Haurbentes, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat
Abstract
Forests have an important role in maintaining the balance of the earth's climate. The existence of forests and their components can reduce the CO2 content in the atmosphere. This study aims to calculate the potential for soil carbon storage in forest plantations in the Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) Haurbentes, Bogor Regency, West Java and analyze the relationship between stand density and soil characteristics on soil carbon storage. The research was conducted by making sample plots measuring 20 x 20 m. Sample analysis to obtain soil bulk density and C-organic values was carried out at the Forest Influence Laboratory, Faculty of Forestry and Enviroment, IPB. The results showed that the soil bulk density at the research site ranged from 0,505 to 0,795 g/cm3. C-organic analysis of the soil at the study site ranged from 0,067 – 0,200 %. The average soil carbon storage at the study site was 200,217 tons/ha. The results of the correlation test showed that the higher the organic C value and stand density, the higher the soil carbon storage and the higher the soil density, the lower the soil carbon organic storage.
