      Abstract
      Cabai rawit merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang penting dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pertumbuhan dan daya hasil genotipe-genotipe cabai rawit spesies Capsicum annuum L. dan Capsicum frutescens L. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) satu faktor dengan tiga ulangan. Bahan tanam yang digunakan adalah lima genotipe cabai rawit Capsicum annuum L. (F12.145291-10-7-1-1-2-1-3-6-1-3, F13.160291-3-12-5-51-1-1-2-2-1-1-5, F9.145291-14-9-3-12-1-1-2, serta varietas pembanding komersil Bara dan Genie) dan tujuh genotipe cabai rawit Capsicum frutescens L. (F1.285290, F1.340290, F1.372340, F1. 373340, Shadiva, serta varietas pembanding komersil Rawita F1 dan Bonita). Galur F9.145291-14-9-3- 12-1-1-2 memiliki panjang buah, tebal daging buah, bobot per buah, serta bobot buah per tanaman yang lebih tinggi daripada varietas pembanding. Galur F12.145291-10-7-1-1-2-1-3-6-1-3 memiliki diameter buah, bobot per buah, dan bobot buah per tanaman yang lebih tinggi dari varietas pembanding. Hibrida F1.285290 memilliki jumlah buah per tanaman yang jauh lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan varietas pembanding. Galur uji Shadiva memiliki bobot per buah yang lebih baik daripada varietas pembanding.
       
      Cayenne pepper is one of the important horticultural commodities and has high economic value for the people of Indonesia. The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the growth and yield of cayenne pepper genotypes of Capsicum annuum L. and Capsicum frutescens L. species. The experimental design used was a onefactor randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. Plant materials that used were five genotypes of cayenne pepper Capsicum annuum L. (F12.145291-10-7-1-1-2-1-3-6-1-3, F13.160291-3-12-5-51-1-1-2-2-1-1-5, F9.145291-14-9-3-12-1-1-2, and commercial comparison varieties Bara and Genie) and seven genotypes of cayenne pepper Capsicum frutescens L. (F1. 285290, F1.340290, F1.372340, F1.373340, Shadiva, and commercial comparison varieties Rawita F1 and Bonita). The F9.145291-14-9-3-12-1-1-2 line produced higher fruit length, flesh thickness, weight per fruit, and fruit weight per plant than the comparison varieties. The F12.145291-10-7-1-1-2-1-3-6-1-3 line had higher fruit diameter, weight per fruit, and fruit weight per plant than the comparison varieties. The F1.285290 hybryd had much higher number of fruits per plant than the comparison variety. Shadiva test line had a better weight per fruit compared to comparison variety.
