The most common species that infects dogs include Ehrlichia chaffeensis, Ehrlichia ewingii and Ehrlichia canis, with the latter being the most common species found in dogs. The primary vector of Ehrlichia canis is Rhipicephalus sanguineus, a brown dog tick. The study aims to obtain and analyze data of therapeutic drugs used in the treatment of CME in Century Animal Clinic Tawau from 2019 to 2021 as well as analyzing the purpose and function of each drug. Based on 65 cases that were collected from the clinic, it is concluded that the types of drugs used for the treatment of CME consist of antibiotics (22%), corticosteroid (11%) and supplementary drugs (67%). The most used antibiotic was doxycycline followed by oxytetracycline and the combination of both respectively. The corticosteroid administered consist of only prednisolone while there were total of 6 types of supplements used with Sangobion® for iron deficiencies, vitamin B-complex, Neurobion forte®, and folic acid for anemic condition while Azodyl® and Nefrotec ds® are used as kidney supplement.
