Second harmonic generation (SHG) is a non-linear optical process demonstrated by photons interact with non-linear materials to form new photons which have twice the frequency of the original photons. The second harmonic generation measurement using the simplified bond hyperpolarizability model (SBHM) can be used to study the bond orientation of centrosymmetric materials in a simpler way without going through complex susceptibility tensor analysis. Spatial dispersion is the source of the second harmonic generation that comes from the difference in the magnitude of the macro electric field amplitude for each atom at different material depths. This research was conducted to model the response of the bulk silicon (111) when subjected to an electric field with varying input polarization angle. The response can be represented by the intensity of the second harmonic generation in arbitrary units. The Fresnel transmission coefficient is taken into account in the simulation because it can be used to view all input polarization angles. The output intensities of the second harmonic generation on silicon (111) were calculated for the xp and xs. In the xp polarization, the input polarization changes from s to p. It can be seen that there is a phase change and a change in peak intensity for each variation of the input polarization angle on the xp and xs. The change in peak intensity occurs because of the spatial dispersion that comes from the symmetry. Comparison of changes in peak intensity shows the influence and contribution of spatial dispersion on bulk silicon (111).
