      Aplikasi Geotekstil dan Plastik sebagai Bahan Penutup dalam Pembuatan Pupuk Organik Padat dari Limbah Serabut Kelapa Sawit

      Abstract
      Serabut kelapa sawit memiliki C/N rasio yang tinggi sehingga dalam pemanfaatannya sebagai pupuk organik padat diperlukan proses pengomposan agar dapat menurunkan C/N rasio. Proses dalam pembuatan pupuk organik padat memerlukan bahan penutup, sehingga penggunaan bahan penutup yang baik diperlukan agar dapat menghasilkan pupuk organik yang efektif dan memenuhi syarat berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Pertanian Republik Indonesia No. 261 Tahun 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 2 × 2, masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan dibuat 2 ulangan. Proses pengomposan dilakukan selama 30 hari dan dilakukan pembalikan setiap 3 hari. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi aspek kualitas fisik yaitu, warna dan bau; kualitas kimia yaitu, pH, N-total, C/N rasio, P-total (P2O5), dan K-total (K2O); serta kualitas biologi yaitu, total mikrob dan aktivitas mikrob. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi bahan penutup geotekstil menghasilkan pupuk organik padat yang lebih baik dibandingkan bahan penutup plastik secara kualitas fisik, kimia, maupun biologi. pH dan total hara makro telah memenuhi syarat, kecuali C/N rasio. Pupuk organik padat kualitas terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan bahan penutup geotekstil dengan penambahan mikrob.
       
      Oil palm fiber has a high C/N ratio so that in its utilization as a solid organic fertilizer, a composting process is needed in order to reduce the C/N ratio. The process of making solid organic fertilizer requires a covering material, so the use of a good covering material is needed in order to produce an effective organic fertilizer and meet the requirements based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 261 of 2019. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) 2 × 2, each treatment combination made 2 replications. The composting process is carried out for 30 days and is turned every 3 days. Parameters analyzed include aspects of physical quality, chemical quality, and biological quality. The results showed that the application of geotextile covering material produced solid organic fertilizer which was better than plastic covering material in physical, chemical, and biological quality. pH and total macronutrients counts were met, except for the C/N ratio. The best quality solid organic fertilizer is found in the treatment of geotextile covering material with the addition of microbes.
