Profil Eritrogram Sapi Peranakan Ongole Sebelum dan Sesudah Superovulasi

Abstract

Superovulasi adalah pemberian hormon pada ternak betina donor sehingga menghasilkan beberapa oosit atau sel telur, dimana secara normal hanya dihasilkan satu oosit pada setiap estrus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil eritrogram sapi peranakan ongole (PO) sebelum dan sesudah superovulasi. Sebanyak 10 ekor sapi PO dari Balai Embrio Ternak Cipelang (BET) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel darah diambil dari vena coccygeal sebelum dan sesudah superovulasi. Kegiatan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pemasangan implan untuk sinkronisasi estrus, superovulasi, inseminasi buatan dan produksi embrio. Informasi tentang efek superovulasi terhadap profil eritrogram masih sangat terbatas. Analisis eritrogram dapat menggambarkan status kesehatan hewan. Pemerikasaan eritrogram meliputi jumlah eritrosit atau sel darah merah (RBC), kadar hemoglobin (HGB), nilai hematokrit (HCT), indeks eritrosit (MCV, MCH, dan MCHC) serta RDWc. Darah utuh yang digunakan berisi antikoagulan EDTA dan dianalisis menggunakan mesin hitung otomatis (hematology analyzer). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC dan RDWc menunjukkan nilai yang masih dalam kisaran normal. Superovulasi tidak mempengaruhi profil eritrogram.

Superovulation is a procedure of giving hormones to female livestock resulting several oocytes, that normally only one oocyte is produced at each estrus. This study aimed to know the erythrogram profile of Ongole Crossbreed (PO) cattle before and after superovulation. A total of 10 samples of PO cattle from the Balai Embrio Ternak Cipelang (BET) were used in this study. Blood samples were taken from coccygeal vein before and after superovulation. Embryo program activities include insertion of implants for synchronization of estrus, superovulation, artificial insemination and embryo production. Information about the effect of superovulation on the erythrogram profile is still very limited. Erythrogram analysis can describe the health status of the animal. Erythrogram examination include erythrocytes count or red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin levels (HGB), hematocrit value (HCT), erythrocyte index (MCV, MCH, and MCHC) and RDWc. The whole blood contains the anticoagulant EDTA and were analysed using an automatic counting machine (hematology analyzer). The result showed RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC and RDWc showed values that were still in the normal range. Superovulation do not affect on the erythrogram profiles
