      Evaluasi Daya Hasil Cabai Rawit Mutasi Sinar Gamma

      Abstract
      Tingkat konsumsi cabai rawit bulanan yang tetap tidak diikuti dengan produksi yang stabil sepanjang tahun, menyebabkan fluktuasi harga dan mempengaruhi inflasi nasional. Pendekatan mutasi dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan varietas baru yang memiliki hasil yang stabil. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh informasi mengenai karakter kuantitatif berupa daya hasil dan kualitatif pada tiga genotipe cabai rawit generasi M2 induksi mutasi sinar gamma yang dibandingkan dengan genotipe yang telah ditetapkan. Genotipe tersusun berdasarkan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) faktor tunggal. Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa genotipe berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap semua karakter kuantitatif dan nyata pada karakter lebar tajuk. Genotipe CHM 6 memiliki karakter daya hasil seperti bobot buah per tanaman, jumlah buah per tanaman, dan produktivitas lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan semua genotipe uji dan beberapa pembanding. Sementara itu, genotipe CHM 7 memiliki karakter umur berbunga dan panen lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan semua genotipe uji maupun pembanding. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan bahwa bobot buah per tanaman dipengaruhi oleh jumlah buah per tanaman.
       
      Flat monthly cayenne pepper consumption rate not followed by stable production along a year, causing price fluctuation and affecting national inflation. The mutation approach can be used to develop new varieties having stable yields. This study aimed to get information on quantitative and qualitative characters of three genotypes of M2 generation cayenne pepper induced by gamma-ray irradiation compared with established genotypes. The genotypes are arranged under a single factor randomized complete block design (RCBD). The results of variance analysis showed that genotype had a very significant effect on all quantitative characters and a significant effect on canopy width. Genotype CHM 6 had yield characteristics such as total fruit weight per plant, number of fruits per plant, and higher productivity than all test and comparison genotypes. Meanwhile, genotype CHM 7 had a faster flowering and harvesting age than all test and comparison genotypes. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the total fruit weight per plant was influenced by the number of fruits per plant.
