Kondisi Kualitas Air Habitat Glass Eel (Anguilla spp.) di Muara Sungai Cikaso Sukabumi, Jawa Barat
Abstract
Kondisi kualitas air menjadi sangat penting dalam menopang kelimpahan glass eel
di muara Sungai Cikaso. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas air habitat
dan kondisi biologis glass eel di muara Sungai Cikaso, Sukabumi, Jawa Barat.
Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di muara Sungai Cikaso, Jawa Barat dalam kurun waktu
Februari hingga Juni 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Principal Component
Analysis dan Water Quality Index untuk menjelaskan karakteristik habitat glass eel. Glass
eel yang tertangkap terdiri atas tiga jenis yakni Anguilla bicolor bicolor, Anguilla
nebulosa, dan Anguilla marmorata. Anguilla bicolor bicolor merupakan jenis glass eel
yang paling banyak tertangkap. Glass eel memiliki panjang total berkisar 43-73 mm.
Glass eel yang ditangkap memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometrik negative dengan nilai
faktor kondisi sebesar 0,7624-1,0302. Estimasi populasi glass eel yang diperoleh secara
keseluruhan sebanyak 13.348.267 individu dan biomassa 1685,46 kg. Nilai WQI yang
didapatkan termasuk kategori sangat baik dengan nilai sebesar 91. Kualitas air habitat
muara Sungai Cikaso sangat mendukung kehidupan glass eel berdasarkan nilai Water
Quality Index dan kondisi biologis glass eel. Water quality conditions become very important in sustaining the abundance of
glass eels at the Cikaso River estuary. This study aimed to analyze the water quality of
habitats and biological conditions of glass eels at the Cikaso River estuary, Sukabumi,
West Java. Sampling was conducted at the Cikaso River estuary, West Java in the period
February to June 2021. The study used the Principal Component Analysis and Water
Quality Index methods to explain the characteristics of glass eel habitats. Glass eels are
caught consisting of three species include Anguilla bicolor bicolor, Anguilla nebulosa,
and Anguilla marmorata. Anguilla bicolor bicolor is the most common type of glass eel
caught. Glass eels have a total length ranging from 43-73 mm. The captured glass eel has
a negative alometric growth pattern with a condition factor value of 0.7624-1.0302. The
estimated population of glass eels obtained as a whole is 13,348,267 individuals and
biomass of 1685.46 kg. The WQI value obtained belongs to the category was very good
with a value of 91. Water quality of the Cikaso River estuary habitat strongly supports
glass eel life based on water quality index values and biological conditions of glass eels.
