      Abstract
Produksi serasah perminggu di tiap kelas lereng, yaitu kelas lereng I: jati J(I) 570 g m-2 dan kelapa K(I) 1200 g m-2, kelas lereng II: durian D(II) 797 g m-2, kelas lereng IV: durian D(IV) 815 g m-2 dan hutan H(IV) 860 g m-2. Lolosan tajuk di tiap penggunaan lahan, yakni J(I) 74,81%; K(I) 74,41%; D(II) 50,64%; D(IV) 59,58% dan H(IV) 54,58%. Intersepsi setiap jenis penggunaan lahan, yakni J(I) 25,19%; K(I) 25,59%; D(II) 49,36%; D(IV) 40,42%; dan H(IV) 45,42%.

The transformation of forest to other land uses might lead to an unsuitable land capability. It may increase surface runoff and erosion due to the lack of interception. The study aims to evaluate land uses on difference slope class in the hilly region of Dusun Besar Village based on the type of vegetation, amount of litter, canopy escape and interception. Land use on each slope class along the transect were evaluated based on the land capability class in line with the type of vegetation, amount of litter, canopy escape and interception. Studies show that land use in each slopes class has been consistent with its land capability class. Weekly litter production, consecutively, on slopes class I: teak J(I) 570 g m-2 and coconut K(I) 1200 g m-2, slope class II: durian D(II) 797 g m-2, slope class IV: durian D(IV) 815 g m-2 and forest H(IV) 860 g m-2. A headline in each land use: J(I) 74,81%; K(I) 74,41%; D(II) 50,64%; D(IV) 59,58% and H(IV) 54,58%. Interception of each type of land use is J(I) 25,19%; K(I) 25,59%; D(II) 49,36%; D(IV) 40,42%; and H(IV) 45,42%.
