      Pengaruh Lama Pemuasaan Pakan Pra Transportasi terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah, Bobot Badan dan Karkas Ayam Broiler

      Abstract
      Ayam broiler harus dipuasakan sebelum diangkut. Pemuasaan pakan diperlukan untuk mengosongkan sistem pencernaan pada karkas sebelum disembelih. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisis penyusutan bobot badan ayam broiler dari pengaruh perbedaan lama pemuasaan sebelum transportasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 126 ekor ayam broiler dengan bobot rata-rata 1,4 kg pada umur 28 hari. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Parameter yang diukur yaitu penyusutan bobot badan, kadar glukosa darah, dan persentase karkas. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemuasaan memiliki pengaruh terhadap penyusutan bobot badan, kadar glukosa darah, dan persentase karkas. Disimpulkan bahwa pemuasaan selama empat jam memiliki pengaruh yang baik daripada tanpa pemuasaan dan pemuasaan selama delapan jam.
       
      Broiler Chickens have to fasten from the feed before transportation. Feed withdrawal is needed to empty the digestive system to avoid carcass contamination during slaughtering. This study analyzes the weight loss, blood glucose, and carcass percentage of broiler chickens as the results of different fasting times before transportation. The study used 126 broiler chickens with an average weight of 1,4 kg at 28 days of age. A Completely Randomized Design is applied. The experimental design consists of three treatments consist of no fasting (P1), four hours fasting (P2), and eight hours fasting (P3) with three repetitions. One repetition consists of 14 broilers. The parameter observed was the weight loss, glucose levels in the blood, and carcass percentage. Data are analyzed descriptively. Results showed that fasting time affected body weight loss, blood glucose levels, and carcass percentage. Four hours fasting time before transportation showed better results than no fasting time and eight hours fasting time.
