      Pengembangan Spektrofotometer Jinjing dan Evaluasi Kinerjanya pada Zat Pewarna Tartrazina

      Abstract
      Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat pada era digital seperti saat ini memungkinkan terjadinya pengembangan spektrofotometer jinjing menggunakan berbagai komponen yang lebih sederhana, seperti lampu LED (Light Emitting Diode) sebagai sumber sinar, kamera web sebagai detektor, DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) sebagai kisi difraksi, serta perangkat lunak Thereminospectrometer sebagai sistem akuisisi data. Kinerja spektrofotometer jinjing diuji dengan parameter linearitas, menggunakan larutan zat pewarna makanan tartrazina. Hasil yang diperoleh kemudian dibandingkan dengan spektrofotometer komersial Hitachi U-2800. Kinerja alat menunjukkan linearitas dengan nilai koefisien determinasi (R^2) 0,9963. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan kemiripan jika dibandingkan dengan spektrofotometer pembanding tersebut. Telaah pustaka menunjukkan bahwa spektrofotometer jinjing yang telah teruji kinerjanya, bukan hanya dapat diaplikasikan dalam bidang analisis tetapi juga dalam bidang pendidikan.
       
      A rapid technology development on this digital era, provide ways to develop a portable spectrophotometer using common electric components that are simpler, cheaper, and easy to construct. The aim of this study is to develop a portable spectrophotometer using white LED (Light Emitting Diode) lamp as light source, web camera as a detector, DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) as diffraction grating, and offline software Thereminospectrometer as data acquisition system. The analytical performance is measured by linearity parameter using tartrazine dye solution. The data obtained from our portable spectrophotometer were compared to a commercial spectrophotometer Hitachi U-2800. Linearity test of portable spectrophotometer shows linearity with coefficient of determination value (R^2) equal to 0,9963. The result shows a similar value compared to commercial spectrophotometer. Literature review confirm that a portable spectrophotometer is not only applicable for analysis, but also for educational purposes.
